“Honestly mate, you look sterling.”
This film gives me a bad case of emotions. The series is worse for that though, I basically just cried my way through all of ‘88. Hence why I can’t watch it that often, as I’ll just want to watch the series after and that would be a bad idea.
I was on my way here, and I heard screams didn’t I? I heard you screaming didn’t I? And I ran up and I looked through the window and he was on top of you wasn’t he? He was on top of you wasn’t he? He was, wasn’t he? Yeah, look at me love, look at me, look at me. He was on top of you wasn’t he? And I knew what he was doing don’t I? Cause he’s been doing it all your life hasn’t he?
Nope nope nope nope nope nope.
I keep thinking about watching this again but then I’ll want to watch the series and that’ll end with tears.
Here’s hoping we can get through the last part of This Is England without him crying as I can’t deal with it.
“I’ve got one of these for you, Sonny Jim. I’ve got one of those for you, my name is Harvey…”
This is England, 2006
Sometime soon I will get around to watching the series again and probably curse Shane Meadows as I cry endlessly.
Such lovely faces. I want to watch the series again sometime but I should probably wait until I’m less stressed so I can try and avoid turning into even more of a blubbery mess than I did last time I watched ‘88.
The ‘I were fucking lying’ is the best bit :D.
This whole part warms my heart but when you watch it again you know how short lived it is so it gets a little bit sadder.
