This video contains Hank Green singing about Subway while sitting on a large metal fish, now that’s a sentence I never thought I’d type.

I will never get bored of this song. I know it’s overblown and slightly ridiculous but in my eyes the best musicals are. Plus they’re both such great singers that I always sit there stunned (while dramatically lip syncing complete with arm gestures of course).

I should probably be embarrassed that I can still remember the words to this. People may complain about Gerard Butler’s voice but I do think he did a pretty good job with this song at least.

I should probably log off before I disappear into a spiral of looking up my favourite overblown and melodramatic songs from musicals on Youtube. One of the things I love about musicals is that they can do this kind of thing and somehow make it work, although I guess some people would argue with that.

I’m still working my way through all of the Vlog Brothers videos. Now I’m up to 2011 so I’m getting there.

In this one John talks about the similarities between maths and literature and how in both of them there aren’t always simple answers. The main thing that jumped out at my though is how he said that some answers in literature are clearly more right than others. Just because you have a certain interpretation it doesn’t mean that it’s the right one and people have to respect it, especially if the writer themselves said explicitly that it wasn’t the case.

HOW IS THIS A REAL THING WHICH WAS PUBLISHED? SERIOUSLY?

I woke up with this song stuck in my head. I didn’t even think I could remember the words but apparently I can. It’s just so bloody catchy. Now if only there were more songs about every area of physics, chemistry and biology that I might want to at least know the basics about.

Watching Vlog Brothers videos from a couple of years ago again. In this one Hank explains why he thinks the Rocky Horror episode of Glee was a terrible idea but mostly it’s worth watching for the guessing game about which character he played in his school’s production of it. I’d recommend watching all of the options as they’re all brilliant, especially his Tim Curry impression.

WEST COUNTRY INTROVERTS UNITE.

I think the fact that I’m an introvert makes me more suited to conversations online because generally the people I talk to I already know share similar interests to me so I find them easier to talk to. I can’t do small talk or start conversations, which leads to people thinking that I’m rude/odd. As that’s combined with a chronic case of bitch face it leads to people not talking to me much, which is ok if they’re strangers who I don’t really want to talk to anyway but gets a little bit lonely sometimes. It’s why I’m grateful I did discover Tumblr as otherwise I might go weeks without having any meaningful conversation with anyone, leading to me probably feeling more suicidal than I generally do as despite what people may think I do actually like people.

EDIT: Or possibly they don’t talk to me because they hate me. I’m not enough of a narcissist to assume that everyone likes me or finds me at all interesting. On which note, shutting up now.
